HOW TO HOLD ON TO HOLIDAY VIBES

I’m forever looking into new ways of how to lift my vibrational frequency, to feel happiness every day and to attract more happiness into my life…aren’t we all?!

But a recent holiday to Crete has been one of the biggest eye openers for me so far with regards to “how” it happens and what needs to happen for a maximum vibrational lift in a short space of time.

Surprisingly to everyone I know, for various reasons, I’ve never been much of a holiday person; it’s not a good time to go right now… I’ve got too much to do…I’m not sure if I’ll like it there or if it will be worth the effort ... plus, up until a year or so ago I had a big fear of flying which held me back from agreeing to go anywhere but the Cotswolds for our family break. However, fortunately after forcing myself on a few flights to weddings and quick flights to France, I’ve managed to break the cycle. Now, at last, I get what all the fuss is about!

Right now I’m sitting in a café watching the rain outside. Two days ago I was sitting in 28 degree heat, enjoying a Mediterranean breakfast of fresh beef tomatoes and feta, looking at the salt water pool I’d be enjoying cooling down in later on that day.

Obviously we all hear this talk from anyone we know who has recently returned from holiday “this time last week we’d be sipping cocktails by the sea” etc. But what’s interesting to me today is that the rain is not bothering me as much as it would have two weeks ago. In fact nothing is, I’m still enjoying the high vibes from my break in the sunshine, they’ve managed to stay with me, and I’m going to keep hold of them for as long as possible.

I first noticed that a positive change was coming over me around day 2 or 3 of my trip. I was sitting with my fiancé by the pool, playing cards, planning where we were going to go for dinner, and I felt for the first time in a long time, truly calm, carefree and relaxed.

All of my to do lists, jobs, responsibilities, meetings and appointments were out of sight and I realised they were also becoming out of mind. I physically couldn’t do any of my usual day to day tasks there and the result was that without them I could let go mentally of any negative emotions that can often come along with them. After a couple of days of experiencing this, my vibration was lifting and it felt great.

Now I know it’s not rocket science that holidays make you happy, but I find it really interesting exactly HOW they make you happy and what this prolonged, relaxed, happy, carefree feeling does to your overall vibration. More importantly, how we can keep it and get more of it.

So I made a conscious effort to notice all of the little things that contributed to my zen state…

I realised I was waking up and getting out of bed much easier than usual, knowing I had a day of leisure ahead of me with sun, fun and excitement. I couldn’t wait to make the most of it, starting with breakfast on the terrace in the sun, consisting of lots of colourful and juicy high vibe fruits and vegetables, prepared by someone else! Normally at home I’d skip breakfast so this was very new to me. I noticed my energy stayed high all day because of this, and therefore so did my mood. Again, not exactly breaking news but a new discovery for me personally. Whenever I looked around me I was surrounded with other relaxed, content holiday makers. Everyone was sharing the same kind of vibe, something I noticed that was having an overall effect on me because it’s not necessarily something that happens that often when you’re going about your day to day life. I spent my days enjoying quality time with my fiancé, both happy and relaxed, we swam, played table tennis, explored the area, enjoyed new amazing food, met new people, smiled a lot, laughed a lot and generally let our hair down guilt free. We were in a holiday bubble…somewhere that made us happy, doing things that made us happy and only focusing on this.

We rarely knew what day it was and it was so refreshing to view the day ahead as just that, a whole day, not a “Monday” for example that can come along with assumptions, preconceptions and hesitations before the day has even begun.

I noticed my energy change for the better after doing more exercise too. Obviously it becomes easier to get motivated for exercise when it consists of taking a few steps, plunging into a cool pool and swimming lengths in the sunshine but still, I noticed a change in how my body and mind felt after doing this every day and this was another contributing factor to my highest vibes ever.

I let go of what I looked like during the day (you can’t fight saltwater hair) and I just relaxed and embraced looking like a big sun oiled, salty haired, red faced mess…a mess with a big smile on my face.

I didn’t even get agitated when the hotel room was a state, covered in sand, kicked off flip flops all over the floor and beach bags sprawled across the bed. Who cares? I was happy!

The point I’m trying to make is that all of the things that would normally niggle me didn’t, because my vibration was so high that the little things didn’t matter anymore.

After a few days more I also noticed that the neck tension I get every now and again was much much looser…my lower back ache that I thought was just down to my thirties had completely vanished and I hadn’t been picking up on it like I normally would have done, I was too busy enjoying myself.

And I’m certain that this is the secret.

It was a mixture of all of the above that helped me discover this new lovely combination of circumstances that lifted my vibration to a higher level. Taking proper breaks with no familiar surroundings or distractions, focusing on quality fun time, eating high vibe foods, exercising, playing games and practicing mindfulness, finding ways to look forward to your day ahead, not sweating the small stuff, treating every day as nameless, absorbing some sunshine, seeing new places, being around other people that share your vibe, nurturing your relationships when you’re in harmony with each other, not worrying about what you look like and listening to your body.

For this reason, holidays are going to play a major part in my life from now on. What was once something I’d try and avoid will now be a compulsory part of my year to allow alignment with my higher self and time to reprogram my mind back to its happiest and most natural state.

In the meantime, I will revisit my recent holiday as often as possible to relive those amazing feelings and emotions. I want to keep the powerful holiday vibes with me at all times. I’ll do this by visualising … otherwise this will just get way too pricey!

Would you like to feel as happy as you are when you’re on holiday every day? It is possible to train your mind and body into feeling the benefits of a holiday every day.

Which holiday would you choose to focus on? Once you’ve chosen your destination, look at some old photos to jog your memory and remind you of where you were, who you were with and what you did.

All you need to do is take 10-15 minutes a day to close your eyes, imagine you’re there, focus as much as you can on all the details that make you feel the happiest and enjoy it all over again. Explore new places if you want to, bring along new people and add whatever you want, it’s your visualisation and your vibes that you’re raising. The more you feel, the more your subconscious will believe this information to be true and your mind and body will react positively as a result. Try it for a few weeks and let me know what differences you feel.

You’ll almost certainly find yourself taking more holidays, enjoying more relaxation and inevitably inviting lots of fun and love into your life.

Feel and attract holidays. Enjoy! x
